The Rider Research Hub Community Privacy Policy
 
SHIFT Active Media Ltd (“Rider Research Hub”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting and respecting your privacy. We are the data controller of your information - that means we’re responsible for your personal data under this Privacy Policy.
 
This privacy policy (“Privacy Policy”) explains how we collect, use and protect the personal information of our users who are part of the “Rider Research Hub Community” and/or are considering taking part in our online panels, surveys and discussions.
 
The Rider Research Hub Community is a SHIFT Active Media Ltd service and we have appointed QuMind Limited (“QuMind”) to host the Rider Research Hub Community. QuMind is an online market research provider, specialising in online interviewing, which collects data on behalf of third party clients, in this case Rider Research Hub. QuMind is the data processor - in other words, they process personal information on behalf of us as the data controller.

How we collect your information
 
We collect information that you share with us through your participation in the Rider Research Hub Community, for example, information provided by you:
  • at the time of registering to use the Rider Research Hub Community;
  • when participating in our online surveys, polls and discussions or prize draws;
  • when posting material on the Rider Research Hub Community;
  • when submitting enquiries using the contact details posted on the Rider Research Hub Community; and
  • if you report an issue with the Rider Research Hub Community.
We automatically collect technical information about your computer, things like the equipment you’re using, as well as a record of what pages you’re visiting. We use cookies for this – please see the ‘Cookies’ section below for more information.


Information we collect
 
In order to participate in the Rider Research Hub Community, we require certain personal data from you. This may include:
  • identity data, such as your first name, last name, title, age and gender
  • contact details such as your residential address, email address and telephone number,
  • profile data, such as your username and password, your interests, preferences, feedback and survey responses
  • device and browser data from the device you’re using, such as your IP address, operating system, browser type and version and time of visit; and
  • cookies - we use third party tracking services that employ cookies to collect aggregated and anonymous data about visitors to the Rider Research Hub Community website. This data includes usage details and user statistics. Please see below for more information.

Cookies
 
Cookies are used for validation and to prevent bothersome repeat surveying. Please see below and QuMind's Cookie Policy for full details.
 
We use the following cookie, which is set through the QuMind platform:
  • a non-persistent/temporary session cookie that expires as soon as you log off or close your Internet browser. It is only stored temporarily and is destroyed after leaving that page.
  • the specific cookie we use is: PHPSESSID.
You can configure your browser to notify you when cookies are being placed on your computer. You can also delete cookies by adjusting your browser settings.

How we use your information
 
We will use your information for the following purposes:
  • segmentation, allowing us to provide a more tailored and relevant community experience as well as research activities;
  • from time to time we will use your information to send relevant research activity to you in the form of surveys and to take part in discussion groups and online polls;
  • to help us verify your identity and in doing so enabling us to administer the above activities effectively and allowing us to contact you if the need arises, for example a member has a query about the community which requires us to respond via email;
  • account administration allowing members to amend community preferences;
  • to contact you about prizes, rewards or special projects as part of our research projects and activities;
  • trend analysis and behaviours formed from aggregated and anonymous research results data; and
  • to improve our services, and help partners understand how to improve products and services.
Rider Research Hub remains the data controller of the information collected. The way the service works is that QuMind will share the information collected on our behalf with Rider Research Hub


Legal Bases
 
The processing of your information will be based the following grounds:
  • Legitimate interests;
  • Consent;
  • Where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract; and
  • Where we have a legal obligation to do so.
Legitimate interests: We use your data in line with the following legitimate interests:
  • to generate insights that can be used to enhance the Rider Research Hub experience for members - improved UX, new brand offers, generally through an aggregated analysis of member attitudes, behaviour, trends for brand partners;
  • in the interests of our members to provide a community and connect members to share ideas, thoughts and experiences; and
  • for organisational reasons and to monitor performance, to gather and update member details and preferences, and to enhance our products and services and improve performance.
Consent will be obtained where sensitive data is being collected or you wish to take part in a prize draw and wherever we need to, it will be clear to you when this is the case.
 
Contractual obligation: we will rely on our contractual obligation where processing is necessary for the performance of a contract, i.e. to provide you with the Rider Research Hub Community service.


Who we may share your information with
 
We may share your data with other members of the Rider Research Hub group and with third party service providers (such as IT service providers).

We may also share your information:
  • if we sell or buy any business or assets, in which case we may disclose your personal information to the prospective seller or buyer of such business or assets (or the buyer or seller’s advisers);
  • if we or part or all of our assets are acquired by a third party, in which case personal data held by us about our customers will be one of the transferred assets; and
  • if we are under a duty to disclose or share your personal information in order to comply with any legal obligation; or to protect the rights, property, or safety of SHIFT Active Media Ltd, our users, or others.

Security of information collected
 
Rider Research Hub and QuMind are committed to maintaining the security of the data we and QuMind process and have appropriate security measures in place to protect against loss, misuse or alteration of such information. Employees or agents of Rider Research Hub and QuMind can only access data by use of authorised username, passwords and two-step verification.
All QuMind online resources are appropriately secured with firewall, packet filtering, port blocking software and updated with the latest security patches. QuMind servers are based in the UK. Rider Research Hub servers are based in Europe.
Where required QuMind offers SSL (secure sockets layer) (indicated by https:// in the address bar) secured web services to offer encrypted web traffic and authentication by Thawte. Remote administration and data retrieval (e.g. databases) is achieved through encrypted communication with the remote computers and means all traffic including passwords and user information is indiscernible if intercepted on the way.



How long we keep your information
 
How long we keep your information will depend on the purpose for which we use it. While you are a user of the Rider Research Hub Community, we will only retain your information for as long as is necessary for those purposes.
 
If you decide to delete your Rider Research Hub Community account, your data will be held in aggregate format for research purposes ONLY to allow for tracking long term trends in consumer behaviour. Aggregated data could be derived from your personal data but is not considered personal data in law as this data will not directly or indirectly reveal your identity. That is, no names, addresses or telephone numbers are attached to any answers, but instead answers are provided as counts and percentages.
 
QuMind reviews the panel every 6 months and removes non-active members. You will be contacted by QuMind beforehand to make you aware of any inactivity on your account. Any member data in relation to the Rider Research Hub Community held thereafter will also be in aggregate format for research purposes ONLY to allow for tracking long term trends in consumer behaviour.


Your Rights
 
You have the right to withdraw from taking part in a survey through the Rider Research Hub Community, and also delete your Rider Research Hub Community account at any time.
 
You have the right to ask us to delete the record of a response to a survey after you have submitted your answers on the Rider Research Hub Community and we will ensure that your response is not used in our analysis, provided that we have not already shared it in an aggregated form with Rider Research Hub.
 
You can also unsubscribe from the Rider Research Hub Community, receiving our newsletter or from our prize draws by clicking the "unsubscribe" link contained in any of the emails that either we send you or QuMind sends to you on our behalf. If you unsubscribe, your information will be anonymised, so the information you submitted won’t be able to identify you.
 
You have the right to ask us to delete all information we hold about you at any time.
 
You will also have the right to rectify, restrict or object to the processing of your personal information (including profiling) in accordance with the proceedings laid down by applicable laws and regulations.
 
You have the right to request access to the data we hold about you in a commonly used electronic format for information purposes or to transfer to another source, free of charge.
